1 Year Plan A- I plan to be enrolled at Jackson College. I want to either still be working at my current job now or find a new one, depending on the time I have and the college I pick. I want to be taking my prerequisites and obviously doing well in those. I will hopefully be working part time as a nurse in a nursing home or at a hospital, learning and getting quality experiences.
5 Year Plan A- I will want to be finishing up with college in a year or so. I will hopefully be working in the hospital setting nursing of some sort, working towards my goal of being a Nurse Anesthetist. I will hopefully have found my significant other and start working out our future plans together.
10 Year A- I will be working as a Nurse Anesthetist in a hospital somewhere either in Michigan, California, or the East Coast. I really want to be living by one of the Great Lakes or the ocean. I will hopefully be married and maybe start beginning my family. I will hopefully be making enough money to stay financially stable and afford a house and a nice car.
Oakland University Essay:
At the age of 12, I was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis. The first four years of my diagnosis, I was in and out of the hospital and missed many days of school during my middle school and early high school years. It was during my many trips to doctors appointments and to the hospital that I became very interested in pursuing a career in the medical field. During one of my visits to my Pediatric Gastroenterologist, my doctor and I discussed my future plans and interests. It was during that visit, that I concluded I wanted to become a Nurse Anesthetist. I applied immediately and was accepted into my local vo-tech health care careers and nursing program. I am presently dual enrolled at Jackson College. After researching my post high school college options to continue my pursuit in the nursing field, I have learned what an outstanding nursing program your college offers. It is with great enthusiasm and desire to be considered for acceptance to Oakland University for the Fall of 2018.
